FAQ’s
Does perm damage the hair?
No, it does not damage the hair if created by a professional who will assess its health before the service. A perm is a chemical treatment that penetrates the hair fiber and modifies the internal structure of the hair and transforms it into the new rounded shape.
What can I do to prepare the hair for the waving services?
- For weak and very thin hair: Use a fortifying treatments such as the Icecream Argan Age or Icecream Keratin.
- For very dry or damaged hair: Prepare the hair using keratin-based treatments that can strenghten the hair such as Icecream Keratin or Shecare Repair.
- For bleached hair: Prepare the hair for at least 2 weeks before the perm with Shecare Repair.
- For very dry, damaged and bleached hair: Start the waving service by preparing the hair with PREP shampoo and mask.
How long does the perm last?
In general, the perm has an optimal duration up to 4 months but varies according to the length and type of hair. Home treatments also affect the duration of the perm. The effect will also change over time: after a few weeks the curl will begin to “loosen” gradually, with a very natural effect. To emphasize and maintain curls, it is advisable to always use a diffuser when drying and apply moisturizing, restructuring treatments and styling products designed for curly hair.
Which homecare is recommended?
Recommend the right mix of shampoos, conditioners and nourishing masks to use at home to keep the hair fiber hydrated and resilient.
- For permed natural hair: Icecream Keratin
- For permed colored hair: UptoYou Curl boost
- For permed bleached hair: Shecare Repair
Is it possible to bleach or highlight after the perm?
It is advised to proceed with the bleaching at a later stage and wait at least 2 weeks in order to prevent the chemical components of the two services from reacting with each other, making the perm last less.
